high winds overnight

Monday in April.. I am betting this month flies by too. Early to rise yet again. Today is cleaning day at the ranch.. marketing the furniture too. I sorted it all into price groups, snapped pictures and posted sales.

Then I moved it all to the spare room and the nightstands down. Will wait for muscles to take the chunky pieces down. No more big pieces will be painted until a few big ones move. So time to clean and do household things. Today is Sheldon's last full work day up north ... crazy!

Britt was off to work a short shift at 4, taking a parcel to town for me and picking one up. She did hit the gym today before coming home. Another beauty 16 degree day. The forecast wind storm hit as predicted later in the evening and man did it blow. A bit of rain was blasted onto the windows at 4 am as I looked out but only a skiff ;(

Crazy to think this is Sheldon's last w/e to work for quite some time, but it is also the last seafood feast too and maid/chef/unlimited treats so always pros and cons ;) And there is a long list of chores waiting him, HA!

I was up trying to market this house full of painted furniture. Britt finally got up around 11. After having a coffee, we made up more food for Bird and she tried to feed it to her. Again she only ate a bit, what a rail!

After lunch we went out to ride, first set was Bird and Hawk, however Hawk hated the polox practice more then ever so it just was mostly conditioning. Next we caught Daisy and Pepper but Daisy turned up lame so B rode Pepper in paddock for awhile while I put buckets of new soil in the planters. Grass is turning fast and new shoot are coming on all the plants ;) YEAH! I also threw in a couple loads of horse laundry since the gorgeous +16 sunshine was perfect for drying.

Britt showered.. then went to town to hit the patio at OJ's for a bit then the gym before returning home for a late supper. I took the dogs for a good long walk then continued progress on poop scooping and tree trimming, what a beauty night!

Seems when she got home at 7, she skipped hitting the gym ;) I cooked us supper and by 8:30 she was off to Superman VS Batman movie with some friends. I watched the Juno's since in Calgary, kinda cool.

Britt's night did not end well last night, sort of like how her April fools day started after her great test mark. (she returned her parking pass for a credit only to find they charged her to apply for a townhouse which left her owing $$) It seems as the designated driver, car full off peeps in the tinted back window, she did not notice a truck overhanging the driveway, yep and yesterday she removed collision from her insurance. Oh the irony she said. Of course small marks add up to big $$. She scrubbed it up to get a better look in the daylight before off to her shift at tanning salon.

She did help me carry in the huge coffee table before going too, thanks B! I waxed the tops of both again and staged and posted.

BY 11 it was 20, time to get out in the sun. First the dogs and I walked to the gate to check for a parcel, no luck. I swapped out my paint sweats for shorts and a tank top and sprayed on sunscreen and headed out to work. Time to pick rocks in the closest paddock. The wheel barrow was pretty much half full of dog droppings and my pruning but added a pile of rocks and off to the pit adding as I went.

Back to the paddock and filled it half again until the poor flat tires could go no more. I abandoned it mid field, grabbed a cold drink, swapped laundry and went back out, this time with the heavy duty wagon. It too was too hard to push over half full so think the quad shall be needed to take both loads to the pit.

I had left Coco in after the drink break, that and freshly cleaned white mattress cover on my bed. Seems Coco thought I left it for her to clean off on as well as the mattress!! WTH, so I grabbed my new little green cleaner and got busy cleaning the fairly small area.. but as I lifted the cleaner off a clean area I had it sitting I saw the dirty water was sprayed out all the mattress!!!!!!!!!!!! lifting it up, it continued to spray over the carpet. OMG how is it shitty things can get shittier?? One small stain turns into a huge dilemma and a pile of work.. darn you Coco!

By now the clouds had blew in, the wind was up and down all day and for most of the afternoon it howled. I guess it is good it is blowing the right direction as they are spreading the manure to the east. Britt got a quote after work, yep it was over $3,000 ;( she headed to the gym to work out some stress before coming home.

April Fool's day

No April fools here.. just a nice sunny morning to get Switch caught and loaded up and off to her pony school for the month. She was a bit nervous but think she will do well, she quickly found a gelding across the fence she fancied.

Britt had called after writing last test and loading up heading home after year 1!! I took a trip thru town on way home to grab new knobs for the night stands. She was here about 10 minutes before me when I arrived back at home. She is having a great day, her test results from today came in with a 97 and all others very similar this week. She also has confirmed some days working with a local travelling vet this summer!

She had stopped at Irvine's Tack to pickup some herbs for Birds tummy issues. We whipped up a bucket with them and food but even with Britt trying to hand feed her she maybe ate half. I started scooping poop while out in the breezy but sunny day which was already 15.

After a late lunch she kindly walked the dogs as I trimmed trees and kept scooping poop in the now 20 degrees! Time to assemble the knobs and stage the nightstands to post.

Britt spent a couple hours getting ready, by 6 she was off to hang with friends on a deck then hit the bar. I went out and waxed the tables and sprayed the hardware.. I buffed the tops but think another coat of wax is needed then good to stage.. for tommorow
