Today is Sunday July 23 and it is planned as a hot one too. We are heading to the mountains for a girls trail ride. I tried to find S a steed to join us but no luck. Shaina was our time of ride deciding factor as she had a party last night. Luckily she text she was good to good earlier then the planned 2 pm ride.
S hooked up the trailer while I got the drinks and snacks packed in the trailer. Sharon arrived. We loaded her tack in our trailer. Then she and I caught the 3 horses. We were on the road at 11. It was 21 degrees currently. We arrived at Britt's and found we totally forgot to open any windows. The poor horses were literally dripping sweat. They were hosed and reloaded feeling much cooler.
Sheldon stayed with Harley and Cooper. He checked out the track. Cooked himself a smokie and had a nap. We met Shaina at Bragg Creek. We were on the trails after 1. We took a beautiful scenic 2 hour ride. It was 24 up here but we still stayed in the trees as much as we could.
Back at the trailer we took the horses for a bucket bath. A cold drink and few snacks and we were on our way. It was 26 in Bragg Creek town. At B's we unloaded all again. Switch and Bird were hosed. The 3 were then loaded up. S had turned the trailer around, Harley loaded and we headed for the ranch. It hit 31 as we got to Calgary. What a smoker.
At the ranch Sharon hosed Timba. S unhooked the horse trailer and hooked travel up. I threw pizzas in. Sharon joined us for pizza and a cold beer before she was off. I cooked up a macaroni salad for our trip. We then go busy packing up the travel trailer. Clothes & food loaded, the trailer was vacuumed, garden/pots watered, S tested his tractor tires and more. We wrapped up the evening with a soak in the hot tub.
