Today was not the best day. As I was grabbing paint from the bottom shelf I pulled it out and paint ran everywhere!! As I was painting the ombre shelves a bit chunk was on my brush so flicked it but ended up splattering the bookcase behind me lol
It was also a day to try a new product on the last 2 chalk boards and blue goodies. It was the wipe on poly. IN the end I am not a fan, tacky to long and wee bit smelly but it is oil based and I am not digging that.
The beautiful sunshine called me so I opened the doors and hauled my new projects out to scrub and sand. An eclectic old handcrafted desk got a full sand and scrub. It obviously had one of the drawers remade as different material and shorter but one drawer was made from a cool flower crate. The layers of paint made for a neat piece so after repairs I posted it as is and had good response so am auctioning it.
the drawer sizes, so sweet and always repairs on these well loved items
such great character this old desk exudes,
the layers of paint and the paper under glass so pretty
then I gave this old end table a sand and scrub
and this bookcase I was going to paint.. I have posted as is since the finish still has lots of life, I added new shelf brackets and fun wallpaper to the back. If it doesn't sell I will paint blue to go with the other blue fun pieces, I just LOVE solid wood
A very unique SOLID wood coffee table was next. It required a few repairs before its scrub down too. Then on to a heavy pine end table, deep sand and scrub for this guy.
Seeing it was so nice I also took breaks to water garden, harvest a hill of potatoes and pull more plants. A gal stopped for a pile of free jeans and said she was amazed at the beauty of our place, so much so she was teary eyed and felt like writing a poem while driving up I said well sure, take your time and write that poem! Another lady stopped for the grind and brew coffee pot but she was afraid od Diego and he could tell :-)
My next round of Lee Ann's no good horrible very bad day came when I opened the mail and found the bill for baling 13 round bales.. $630!! That is $48.50 PER bale WTH and as I was calling Sheldon to ask WTH I opened the poop spreading bill! Just to spread the pooop pile and make my yard and vehicles smell like a pig farm... $7,000.00!!! This called for a frosty cold beer.. or two!
Britt has auntie cut her hair after school but took Bird for a ride when home. It was a beautiful day until Sheldon text it was snowing in Ft Mac. It was not long after a huge windstorm blew thru causing dirt to fly everywhere.
from above to below in very short time
An interested party in the desk made an offer on it and said let her know what the other lady offered, I thought well lets auction this, much simpler. The first lady said good luck, I dont do bidding or auctions, let me know if it doesnt sell! This after yet more work posting.. at lest I had one lady bid.. lets see what happens now!
Danielle and Gail stopped out after supper bringing me yet another tea, THANKS GAIL!! We had a good old sniffing scentsy visit as Britt picked choices for Kaylin's birthday gift. Just after they left at 9 a rain storm rolled in.
It is now 11 pm and thinking I best go get into my warm bed and start tomorrow fresh, after all it is my oldest darlings 23rd birthday tomorrow!
