603 - short rib recipe

Day 603 was a full work day with me picking up teas for start and a Christmas lunch out at original Joe's as well. We are very lucky girls at my work. I had a parcel arrive at work that Britt was most excited to get a hold of. She had a nap after getting off the bus but once up for supper I gave her the box. Her long awaited ARIAT riding boots. Of course they are in her favorite color.. same as mine :-) She wore them around the house the rest of the night.

For supper I made short ribs, a recipe Amanda sent me last week. I used our yummy bison and it was so delicious. I served it over wild rice combo.

Amanda's Short Ribs

INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 1/2 lbs boneless beef short ribs
1/4 cup butter (didn't use)
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup beef broth
3/4 cup red wine vinegar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chili sauce
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 teaspoon chili powder

Directions:
1  Put flour, salt and pepper in a bag.
2  Add ribs and shake to coat.
3  Brown ribs in butter in skillet.(I didn't use butter) (used temp 450)
4  combine remaining ingredients add to skillet
5  Bring to a boil, stirring.
6  Turn temp down to 200-220 and put lid on. Cook for 1-2 hrs
I served over jasmine rice. And they were quite spicy. I suggest less chili paste if don't like them so spicy, maybe half.

After supper I updated the blog and tried to purge a few more things while Sheldon tried to diagnose an issue the Buick is having with no luck. The heater blower will not run only when left outside at night, rest of time it works perfect...hmmmmm.
Sheldon got some cool gifts from his work, an engraved ceramic go mug, solar battery charger, scarf and leather gloves
Shaina worked Target 4-9, just a few shifts left for the south bound girl. She stayed in town running errands and visiting friends until midnight!
