Hotel bound

I made a pot of coffee. S has gotten off coffee making duty this vacation. I then jumped in the shower. I threw bacon in and sliced tomatoes. The fellows finished the milk with cheerios. We all had some bacon, yogurt, tomatoes and or bananas. The orange juice was finished too. Bags were packed, the last of the beverages and more fridge items Deb will take home. We had time left to play some phase 10 before 11 am checkout.

I snapped some photos of Amarillo House. I should have done when we arrived but to much excitement then. It is a quaint little abode.

The cleaning gal was coming in as we left.We stopped at the hotel - Best Western Las Brisas but the rooms were not ready early. Check in is at 3 PM. We drove to show them Marilyn and walked around down town.

El Patron was our stop for a $7 margarita each and a tray of nachos.

More walking and looking including the exotic car place.

1967 Ford Mustang

1950 Oldsmobile Rocket SS

2014 Modern Polaris Slingshot that S needs for road trips ;)

1934 Mercedes Benz Heritage Replica

We drove back and the rooms were ready before 1:30. Deb and chuck had a nap. S and I enjoyed a cold beverage on the deck. The hotel had called saying the pool was under repair but forgot to mention the roof was being replaced and the noise was deafening in the pool area. Which just happened to be just outside our door. We moved to the front of the hotel and sat on a curb in the sun to enjoy our refreshment.

Do some people need this warning??

Once up the Schmitt’s and us went cross the street to a patio bar called 262 roof top bar . 3 pm was happy hour with again $7 margaritas. After a couple we went downstairs to Sol Agave for supper. Margaritas were happy hour again but $9 but S’s draft beer was $5. The complimentary chips, bean dip and salsa were delish as was the guacamole. S and I  shared an order of taquiza. Perfect amount.

While enjoying a beverage I showed Deb how to create a sticker. She cut out the family photo and put us all in front of the Marilyn statue seeing the Boysis family never did get to see it. And Kaylin is our biggest Marilyn fan.

Back to the hotel to Schmitt’s room to finish the Phase 10 game with a rum and coke. Christmas with the Kranks was on so we watched that then back to our room to watch 4 Christmases. This was followed up by Oilers game period 3. S has not watched hockey for 10 days!! I worked on the blog then read my book.
