Pea soup fog road trip

After our coffees I pulled on my coveralls over nighty and met S at the trailer to unload the press back chairs up in mez till I can redo them. He then moved the trailer to the front door for us to load table later. We did move it inside closer to the door ready to go.

Then it was hot tub time which required but we forgot sunglasses. A shower followed up with S giving H a bath too and I changed her bedding. We had a bowl of chili then loaded up the dining table in the cargo trailer, Harley in the back and we were off after 12. I needed my sunglasses when we left but soon we rolled into the fog and hit black ice in the shade off some trees on way to #1. It let up a bit in spots but mostly was pea soup thick fog that created heavy hoar frost on everything.

from sun to fog

I read an Italian instant pot cookbook as we drove and picked out these yummy recipes; shrimp scampi linguine, spaghetti squash,

molten espresso chocolate cakes, limoncello cake,

zucchini soup and short rib ragu. Must try these ones for sure.

We stopped along the way for S to add another ratchet strap to the table as rough so rough then in Brooks to grab an ice cap and donut; I checked on the table and rearranged again before we set off. We arrived at Ma and Pa's just after 3, took H in the house and the couple pulled up with their cargo trailer to make the exchange. We visited in the foggy cold then they were off.

Time for a relaxing cold beer then we made our way to Ralph's Steakhouse. Neither S nor I have ever been there and he wanted to check it out. It was a little underwhelming for me as I expected more but S thought it was good. The wings were half price and tasty paired with cold beverages so that was good.

Back at the house we played cards with Darren stopping at 8 for a visit and Candace coming after 9. Darren headed off shortly after she arrived then she headed home after 11. I went to bed to read while S caught the end of the news with Pa. I read till almost 2 not quite finishing my book.
