holiday Monday

Sheldon was off to the last days rodeo meeting around 9:30. I worked on sanding the filled ares and topping up others while he was gone. He was back by 11 with a hot tea and a potato patty for me, awe! thanks!

Britt was up but in slug mode. I watered my flower pots, holy dry out. Sheldon set the sprinkler up in the island too. Time to clean out the horse tack room for tomorrows trail ride quick.

Kaylin and Shaina were home about 1:30 from the wedding. Shaina has a shift at 4 and Kaylin is coming to the rodeo with us. Everyone got ready. Britt fit in a quick ride. Mom pulled in about 2:15, we unloaded Slim into the new pen and hauled her things in. We were all loaded in the truck with dump trailer for the scaffolding pick up and off to town by 3. A quick stop or two was made at the Paetz's to grab a pass then off to the rodeo.

It was a hot 28 degrees. Sheldon got the scaffolding loaded while we sat in the bleachers. The rodeo went a bit quicker with no novice or kids events but it was about half way thru when the temperature started to drop, the clouds blew in and soon the wind blew such a biting wind. Our sit upon blanket became our huddle cloth as we were all dressed for HOT weather. A volunteer supper was to follow at 7 but when done at 6:15 we hiked to the trade show to find it and most everything else already tore down and the food venue for the supper closed. Forget that folks, we headed home driving past the golf course where poor miss Shaina was working in this crap weather.

Back home I pulled together a meal much to Britt's displeasure as she wanted to eat out ;) We filled up on the way home but Mom and Britt ran back in her truck to fill for tomorrow's trail ride while supper was being cooked. They found an issue with her horse trailer that Sheldon helped repair enough to drive with no damage.

Shaina was home around 8. Time for all to pack up stuff for tomorrow. I changed and Mom caught Slim and I gave him a well needed trim while Sheldon loaded saddles. Shaina came out and loaded her tack too. All ready for our big trail ride in the morning. Thunder and lightening threatened for a bit but nothing yet.
