The rain finally let loose at 1:45 am and lasted a good half hour and maybe off and on a bit longer as 3 it was still dripping. This is so needed!!! When I awoke in the morning to let Lexi out at 7, there was raindrops on the cars, no puddles but would have soaked in like a sponge.
Coffee and a hot breakfast started our day, tack was double checked, horses were caught & loaded (3 gingers in Mom's trailer and 3 in ours) and we were off around 11:30 on the hazy cooler day to start. We arrived st Station Flats about 12:30 and were tacked and on the trail not long after. Not long and the sun found us, it was beautiful weather to ride.
We rode for about an hour plus on great trails as usual and only saw a few bikers. By the time we got back to camp the sun was full on and mostly blue skies. We enjoyed snacks and a cold beverage as the horses grazed.
the boardwalk is always a fun challenge
Kaylin took her polaroid and captured some shots too
internet access in a few spots including camp
Britt and I did a bareback ride to look for a water pump with no luck. Kaylin had a stretch out while Shaina wanted to chill so Prince and Mom (who took Hawk) came bareback with us on a south leading trail but KD was none to pleased to be left behind so we did not go for very long and then headed back.
unfortunately out of 5 this was the best, a wee bit underexposed light reading
Loaded up and back on the road home after 4 arriving at 5:30 to a very happy Daisy who spent the day alone. I hosed all the horses, Sheldon tossed them hay and the girls hauled in the goods. Thanks all for helping. Time to cook up some sausage and kraft dinner (Prince;s fav), chop some salads, S shoveled poop from both trailers . Kaylin and Shaina ran to town for lactose free milk for the KD. The rest of the night was pretty relaxed after a great family trail ride day!!
Happy anniversary to my gorgeous Goddaughter/sister and her fellow!!
