hoof trimming clinic

Today is a refresher clinic for my hoof trimming so I was up early getting a lunch and some beverages, camera and notebook ready with a side of coffee to go. Lori text she was sick and would not be making her w/e clinic or staying the night tonight ;(  Britt was kind enough to come catch horses for me as I loaded some hay. It seem though that Switch wanted a wee run and Baby was not wanting to go so 1/2 hour later all 4 were loaded and I was out the gates later then planned at 8:45.

I made it only 10 minutes late but it was ll good. The day was filled with a ton of trimming, each of my 4 had hoof issues to be addressed. There was a quick lunch break but I wanted to get all done before home time.

yep she comes out of the trailer missing a patch of hair, oh my

miss Baby

check out these two.. only the knot is held in the baler twine and they are stretching for food

big Bird's turn but she was fairly easy as I did her two weeks ago but addressed the crack and found where the abscess was she had ailing her over he summer

By 5:30 all were done, final gab session over, horses loaded and I was headed home. The rain started spitting on way home but nothing came of it. The day was beautiful with a much needed cloud cover for all that back bending work.

Britt came out to help unload horses, what a good girl, thanks B!! Sheldon had made great progress; mowing the lawn, seeding and grooming the last area behind the garage and fixing the fence area at the gate.

D thinks he is helping pack the soil ;)

no more sneaking out on the highway for these ponies

Britt and Steph had a good ride then Steph was off leaving Britt to study for midterm next week. The even was low key for all, I hit the shower and bed to watch PVR, Sheldon to TV room to continue the football he was watching and Britt.. studying?? Kaylin dropped Shaina off around 3:30 after they worked this evening bar tending a wedding in Standard and she headed home as has to work tomorrow.
