clean lined dresser gets a makeover

Sunny Thursday was topped off with a creamy coffee, Britt added her special pancakes to her late day start. I got the wood shelf dark waxed then got ready to start the stain process on the dresser. The top got stained, restained, and wiped back and restained a 3rd time, think I like it now :0) the Drawers, just once so far. I painted the body 2 coats and sprayed the hardware oil rubbed bronze.
oops nearly forgot the before picture
stain going on for first time, and below after the 2nd time

the grey paint goes on, it is lovely mahogany, just an ugly stain color as is the brassy gold hardware

it gets about 5 coats of oil rubbed bronze which is darker then shown as the flash loves the sparkle

here is the 3rd stain, much more wear and character shows but I like it much better, lets see as it dries

I got a request for a barn board sign so off to the wood pile, success! I found an 8' piece and used my table saw to rip in half and scrub it up.
It was a bit blustery but took time to walk the dogs, of course I got side tracked with poop scooping. I so hate poop laying everywhere, I should get yet another dog :) Speaking of which, I tried the frozen carrots as suggested (& Britt picked up late last night, thanks again), Lola could care less, unless of course Diego wanted it, which eventually he ate anyway! I headed back out in the windy +14 sun and refilled the far 2 mineral/salt tubs. And I wore capris and flip flops! ;)
looks like our lake is drained but was still soggy
this is her usual attack on his collar or jowls
Time to buff and stage the shelf
shown propped but pretty busy photo
so did the hold and shoot. a bit better
I think it is time to toss these 5 wax brushes, they started out longer than the demo one on the left, got my $$ worth for sure!
I also got started on this jewel box for my first mini trade show, it will be in conjunction with a ladies tea with a roaring 20's theme. Amanda will be selling her wares as well.
Britt worked after school and kindly picked up yet more groceries ;) She was happy to heat up actual supper which I made, sausage and macaroni!
