This morning, as we enjoyed our coffee in bed, played brain games, and caught up on the news, Nathan texted just before 9 o'clock. He asked if I could come to the city to watch Renn, who has a fever of 39 degrees and a worsening cough, preventing her from going to daycare. They had massages scheduled at the Nordic Spa for 10:45, which require a 24-hour notice for cancellation and are an hour's drive from their home. In a rush, I quickly dressed and brushed my teeth while S prepared a coffee to go for me, and I was on the road by 9:10! However, I forgot my iPad and glasses, which I had placed in my Nana bag on the island.
S was responsible for feeding Har and had hockey at 11, followed by his usual coffee gathering. I reached their door in 56 minutes, possibly exceeding the speed limit on Highway 1. Kaylin managed to contact the Nordic Spa, rescheduled their massages, and booked another at a city spa since both had taken the day off and it was her birthday treat. We spent some time together before they left at 11, leaving Renn and me to cuddle. The poor little girl is feeling quite unwell.
After a brief cuddle, she was wrapped up warmly, and K escorted her to the doctor while I headed home. K texted at 3:30, while I was driving, that they hadn't been seen by the doctor yet. However, by the time I arrived home, she had been examined and diagnosed with a viral infection that needed to run its course, but ear drops were prescribed for her slightly red right ear. Poor little one.
Har was fed after I moved boxes for a friend outside before parking the car. I harvested the parsley, placed it in the boxes, then loaded them into the truck, and S drove them to the gate and put in the horse trailer for pickup. He was preparing his hunting gear, so I collected some snacks for him to take along. We finished the leftovers from last night's dinner, complemented by a fresh salad. I touched up my nails, which were showing the effects of gardening. S left at 6:30 to spend the night at Todd's, planning to set out early for hunting. I completed my Spanish lessons for the day and was updating the blog when B and Cooper came out after 7:30. They were gone by 8 with her letting me know she will drop him off early in the morning.I completed my computer work and moved to bed to binge-watch the Blue Ribbon Baking Championship, not turning it off until after midnight.
