Custom dresser continues

My intermittent sleep resulted in me dozing off until 9, after which S woke up to make coffee. He had an early hockey game today but still completed his usual morning routine with cereal instead before heading to town at 10, with Britt driving in. Her day off shifted to today because of Thanksgiving. She took care of the feeding, checked on Basil, and prepared beet pulp. She texted that Switch was limping, so I went out to trot her for observation and then cleaned her hooves. It's likely stone bruising. I chatted earlier with Debby and now with Mom both for a quick catchup, I started working on the custom pieces for the day. Since S was not had time to cut, I cut the drawer stops by hand and glued them in place then painted the drawer fronts.

B managed to catch Roo for her veterinary appointment at noon. They injected her sarcoid, hoping it will resolve. They also assessed Bird's mobility before the vet left, with B following shortly after at 1:30. S arrived home past 2, so we both enjoyed a late lunch of chicken soup. I then went out to stain the top with a mix of two colors. S pounded in the snow fence posts in front of the garden area this year. He also fashioned a new drawer runner and fixed it in place. Afterward, he went back outside to water the new trees, hook up the dump trailer, and bask in the glorious sunshine, despite the temperature being only 11 degrees at its peak. I began painting the dresser after placing it up on my work table.

After finishing, I began refurbishing the custom chair by scraping off the paint, gluing a leg, and giving it a thorough scrub. Har was fed, and it was time to prepare supper. We had burgers on the BBQ accompanied by garden-fresh potatoes, tomatoes, the second-to-last zucchini and onion, which were so delicious. B went back out to feed while I cooked, and Dave followed shortly after. She picked up dewormer for Har, which we'll administer after the onset of cold weather. They attended to their horse-related tasks and departed as we dined.S successfully reassembled and fixed the power drill that was taken apart yesterday. We received a Facetime request from Aislyn and Archer seeking sponsors for a spellathon, a modern twist to the traditional door-knocking in the neighborhood.

Renn has enjoyed a great week at daycare, particularly the crafts. Her focus and skill in painting the little pumpkin are impressive, don't you think? Kaylin was told by the workers that Renn was playful today, clapping when other children were praised. Such a sweet girl.

S paused his hockey viewing and we went to relax in the hot tub. Tonight we saw the Starlink satellites zipping across the sky in a train of 20, so cool!! There were a few drowned bees, but not as many as the other day. After taking a shower, I finished working on the blog entries finishing yesterday and posted it while S watched sports. Tonight's bedtime snack is chia pudding and a hot tea.
