Another showing before Renn time

Harley woke up after 6, and when she scratched to come in before 8, S woke up abruptly, exclaiming, "I have to show Donny the rental at 8:30!" This accelerated our morning preparations for Calgary into a rush. He quickly showered and had breakfast, while I fed Harley, gathered TV feet for Emily, and my bag of Nana's things, and we left at 8:20. It was a beautiful, calm, and sunny morning. Donny was already there, ready for his tour, taking the garage opener to show his sister later. We then headed west to the flooring store.

Upon arriving at 9:30, we received a thorough explanation about the thickness of vinyl planking. The assistant expedited our selection of a color. Naturally, we chose the upscale stair covers, which cost over half as much as the entire flooring, but evidently, they are a more durable and convenient option. Loading the pallet proved challenging; we had to reposition the deep freezer and adjust the hitch repeatedly to make everything fit. Afterwards, we visited Home Depot to compare prices for baseboards, look at lighting options, and examine window kits.

Then, it was off to Kaylin's for a Renn-filled afternoon by 11:30. Nathan had the garage door open, and together with Sheldon, they unloaded the freezer and positioned it in their underground parking with just a half-inch to spare for Sheldon's large truck, requiring precise driving. Unfortunately, Nathan injured his finger in the process. Once Kaylin left for work, I applied sunscreen to Renn, packed up the toys, and set off with the wagon. Sheldon was craving Chinese food, so we stopped at a restaurant, which took quite a while, possibly due to the lunch rush. Renn and I paced out front in the sunshine waiting. We all then walked back to the house to eat. Renn savored a variety of berries, cheese, and some naan bread. As we dined, we finished watching 'Ferdinand,' which we had started the previous week.

Coco Melon doll has a bigger head then Renny :)

She's always such an entertaining character. As she began to tire, we started watching 'Inside Out.' We then went to her room, where she donned her sleep sack, and we cuddled and sang songs together. After I laid her down, she fussed for less than two minutes before drifting off to dreamland. Meanwhile, S was on the couch, literally sawing logs! I spent some time searching online for lights and such while watching a Kardashian documentary. Renn woke up around 3:35 but settled back on my knee and dozed off again for a bit as we continued watching 'Inside Out.'

Kaylin arrived home before 4:30. Once she went to change and feed Renn, we set out despite the rush hour traffic on 16th, which was manageable thanks to the beautiful day. Our first stop was Costco, where we found a light. After purchasing it along with cat food, I treated us to ice cream sundaes while S waited with the flooring in the truck. Next, we tried Rona but had no luck. I plan to spray paint the existing lights. Finally, we headed to the Restore store, only to find it closed at 5, and it was already 6. So, it was time to return home, and we got back to the ranch at 6:30.

After a long day indoors, Harley was let outside for a bathroom break. Sharon and Darren had stopped by to see her before 11, following Timba's hoof trimming, but she didn't pee, only visited. I fed her, prepared horse feed, and then watered my dry front planters. S hurried inside to watch the big hockey game, lounging in bed with the large TV, so I made him a huge salad (including radish leaves—did you know they're edible?) which he enjoyed during the first intermission. I then focused on writing today's blog post after publishing Monday’s. After nibbling on some leftover ribs, I warmed up the cabbage rolls. S joined me for a quick bite during the second intermission. Britt arrived late, not until after 8, but she managed to ride and feed before heading out just before 10.

This is the flooring and below shown with our walls and trim. Our wall color will be used in the rental

I spent some time weeding, then showed her the new flooring as she passed by. The cats were delighted with their soft food treat. Later, I caught the last five minutes of the Oilers vs. Predators game. Surprisingly, the loss turned out to be a pleasant outcome for S. Our night concluded with some reading.
