Wipeout

Sunday started out with a conversation about time change. Seems Cabo does not change but our watches did. We were all up early again. Breakfast was toast and jam today. We then set out with the car before taking it back. We looped around the block many times with the main street closed. Finally we decided to drive to San Jose and show them the area and stop at the beach.

A group was putting up a plastics awareness board, the weather was not looking great to the north so we did not stay long.

On route back we filled car with fuel again at Costco. The fellows dropped Toby and I at the gate of our place and they went to return the car. We started lunch of pico de gallo and hot dogs. I ate my left over steak and potato. We enjoyed a margarita on the deck then set off to the beach.

I had a goal to walk the beach every day but it has not been happening so S and I set out to walk. Today is the most overcast day we have had. Seeing I am always taking pictures I asked S to take one of me with the arches in the background The waves were picking up and I said it just might take me out. Sure enough after my back was turned a wave came up much higher onshore and hit me. Losing my balance I misstepped and felt my right knee pop. Down I went including my hat. S grabbed me as it pulled me out and rolled me a bit. Once out, we laughed and thought people watching had a really funny view.

Note the wave behind me swelling
Never turn your back on the waves building LOL

completely soaked including my new hat

It was tender walking back to our towels. My swimsuit bottom was full of sand and of course my dress and hat were soaked too. Being not a warm sunny day did not help but we sat and had a beer declining sales from endless vendors. Eventually we walked back to the condo, me gingerly. I showered all the sand out and dressed.

Another lovely yacht out front and the arches in the distance

The fellows had their hearts set on playing pool back downtown. The walk there had my knee hurting more. The billiards bar we had all to ourselves last week was now packed with spring breakers. Toby walked to get groceries and we found a table in the back. As I sat and watched the fellows shoot pool I could feel my signs of fainting. I put my head in my hands hoping it would pass and then next thing I heard was Doug calling my name in a hazy circle. I felt a huge goose egg on my right temple.

One of the young Mexican fellows playing pool against the boys brought a tequila shot to smell which worked well. Someone brought a cold bottle of water that tasted amazing. A fire fighter from Manitoba checked me over kindly and seeing it was hot back there helped me move to a chair out in the street. However I had to go to the bathroom so back inside. Prior to feeling faint my knee was hurting and thought I should go back. S helped me walk back but the knee hurt worse as we went.

Back at the condo I put ice on it hitting the couch. That was where I spent most of the next few hours. I could not put any weight on it now. Toby and Doug were right behind us do to my slow walk home. The team worked together to cook a tasty beef fajita supper. Thanks guys!

I went to bed at 8 and wrote this blog with my iced knee. The rest watched a comedian show on Netflix. I read my book until S came to bed. He started the series Narcos Mexico but was a sleep in short order. I listened to a podcast eventually taking a seeing pill and putting ear plugs in to get some sleep.
