Why is it on days you have to get up early the sleep is crap? Har wanted out 3 times in the night. The first time it was very windy around 1, then at 5 it was calm but looked a bit damp then 7 I just sent her to the garage. This had me falling back asleep waking at 8:20. My plan was to be leaving by 8:30. Quick dress and Har fed while S made coffee. I packed breakfast and snacks, coffee go mugs while S filled truck with petro. Switch was an easy catch. Harley had loaded herself not to be left behind. We were on the road by 9 am!
Britt was just finishing feeding horses. I got Switch unloaded. B caught Roo and Bird. Shaina arrived not long after. We all tacked up and headed out for a trail ride. S and Har stayed back at the house inspecting the track and other things.
The hour ride was lovely. The weather was around 20/sunny making it perfect. Sad that B will be leaving this pretty part of our province but glad to have enjoyed the time we did. After our ride we untacked and put the girls in a pen. Shaina was off to the city for a 1 pm call. We loaded up Britt's horse gear/food then the horses along with Coop and we were off. Dave came home last night, moved his entire barn to Edmonton today then she is driving him back to the airport today. She will fly out to PEI tomorrow till Monday.
We left as a group of 4 and returned to the ranch a group of 7. The girls were let out which caused drama of course for the next few hours. I filled the salt/mineral tubs. Today did not get as hot (27) or at least it feels cooler then the plus 30's of late. Sheldon ran to town at 3 for a couple hours.
I soaked in the hot tub. S had his later. He read and tracked a baseball game while I watched 2 more Painkiller episodes.
Thursday - Seeing it is to get 36 today I headed out to fill far paddock shelter tub with salt/minerals. I also closed up center paddock and filled the far water trough. S started hot tub cleaning. He cut weeds along the driveway on mower. I brought dogs in and wrote a Hometalk post for the grey nightstand. I was back out before noon trying to get Bird to eat her food. It was now 28 out and she had no interest. Zelos is more important. S moved the bales off the road so I can let them out in the hay field. The paddock grass and hay field is crispy and dry. The days have been very smoky too.
I dropped S at the tractor/ baler. The truck registered 35 degrees out!! Thank goodness for A/C in vehicles, tractors and the house. Kaylin text Renn now weighs 11 pounds 4 oz and doing well at her baby check.
InstantPot cross rib roast was put in for supper. I dug fresh potatoes for supper too. It is sure easy to do all the veggies in the pot as well as the roast sits. I walked the dogs and put horses back in at 8. There was a coyote watching us walk from the winery fence line. It was still 28 out but seems cool compared to the 35 degrees this afternoon. I finished the Painkiller series. Oxy was not a good drug it turns out.
