First camping of 2023

The trailer was being packed. Sharon popped out to learn to drive the ranger to feed while we are gone. The horses have been getting hay daily for a week now as grass is so low in paddocks.

We pulled out before 1:30. It was a blustery hot day. We were the first to arrive and set up camp. C14 was home for the next few days. It seems we forgot allot of stuff including Harley's long leash S took out for the family party. Ratchet straps were hooked together for a makeshift one. Dishes were washed with shampoo. Salad bowl became Har's water dish.

Anderson’s arrived next with little Duke. Following a bit later was Bott’s. They have 2 near 15 year old dogs. Harley was so good with them all. We had an enjoyable evening catching up rounded out with a campfire.

On our evening walk Harley and I saw this family of geese at the marina.

Saturday we headed out fishing. H stayed in the A/C. It was another hot windy day. Sheldon had goo duck with his $13 fishing rod. Doug caught 1 too and Toby 2. John and Kari fished nearby with no luck.

Toby's second fish. You can see Bott's boat in the background.

Back at camp there was more food, beverages and visiting. The fellows went for a swim at the boat launch so the dogs could join in. We are still not sure if Harley can swim. The campfire did not go as late tonight.

check out these 2 swim videos - note Doug's safe water entrance so as not to slip on the mossy cement

Sunday was a relaxed day. The fellows wrapped up the visit with a swim. Us girls and dogs watched from shore. Trailers were packed up and everyone set out for home around 2.

We pulled into the ranch mid afternoon. SOOO windy and now smoky out. It was then time to water pots and garden while S parked the trailer. We cleaned and dumped the water trough after I took them some dandelions I pulled. I helped S put  a switch in the ranger. He then took a load of hay to the horses. The poor pastures are parched. This lack of rain is taking its toll.

Time to catch up on marketing and blogs. There are loads of photos to edit and compress. I did get Banff day finished and posted. Next up was to haul in chairs after finishing sanding. Stage and post for sale.

Thunder and lightening rolled in after 11 but nothing came of it. When we ran to town the next day there were puddles all over. Dam the luck or should I say, No luck.
