Family reunion

my pretty quilt

We started with a lovely bacon & egg, toast watermelon breakfast with lots of coffee and visiting. I made a macaroni salad while we visited for tomorrow. Deb and I ran in to join Mom, Dad and Carol (another resident) on their walk after 11. We enjoyed sitting in the sun with them. Then we stopped to see Asher's ball game when they headed in for lunch.

The boys took the ranger and went gopher hunting

Back at the ranch, the fellows put together the jumbo deck box for cushion storage. They followed that up with putting the last 2 chairs together too. Now to arrange the deck bringing more chairs from the mez too.

Bean dip, queso blanco, chips and beer were enjoyed for a late lunch. The 4 of us played a new game  called Qwixx. I put on a cross rib bison roast with roasted veggies for supper. The Vegas hockey game of course was watched. Mom came out after 7 to join us for supper, visit and stay the night with us.

Sunday morning was homemade sausage, toast, scrambled eggs and more watermelon. After lots of coffee and catch up Mom headed in to see Dad. Deb and I ran to town to Walmart quick. The fellows went out shooting gophers.

Then we played more Qwixx, Dave joined us after he and B arrived. B of course did horse stuff. I gave H her cartrophen dose. Shaina arrived next followed soon after by Kaylin and Nathan. Mom and Travis brought Dad out. Dale, Stacie, Vance and Mya rounded out the family affair. It was a gorgeous day!! We even managed to get a group photo. However Dad was quite sleepy when we did but he was in it at least. It was disappointing the Paetz's were unable to join us. They were very much missed.

Stacie shared her inspiring childbirth pep talk :)

Britt and Dave gave Switch and Bird their vaccines, thanks! Shaina led Switch and Mya around and then let her ride in the round pen. What a good cousin! xoxo Everyone mingled and had lots of visiting, snacks, watermelon and beverages. The BBQ supper seemed to be a hit. It was followed up with homemade apple crisp and ice cream (Mom made from our apples). There were 7 dogs of all sizes. Most had a very good time too.

We got Dad loaded in the car and off to catch a late supper around 7. The Calgary crew was off next heading west. The Oyen group loaded up too and headed east. Britt and Dave left after he had dessert. This left Debby, Chuck, Sheldon and I to play games. After a couple Qwixx we learned a new one called Phase 10. This kept us busy till 11to finish. Another great day of family fun.
