Garage stairs makeover

What a pretty sunrise today when H wanted out. I was out working on paint projects after coffee painting the faux tin tiles. Mom headed to visit dad after 10 and S perusing the news. Today we made our project garage stair cleanup and makeover. This took the whole day starting with pulling out all the stuff from under the stairs and the stairs from the wall. All the leftover tile, flooring, grout etc was under there as well as pieces of maple I had saved for projects. I vacuumed and wiped and kept 2/3 purging the MDF pieces. Cusions for the pets were moved outside and boxes/recyclables sorted too.

all cleaned out

Between stairs tasks I added more color layers to the tiles

The stairs were scrubbed and hosed clean, the area and surrounding was swept first and hosed too.

I started painting the rails and sides bright white to match the walls and trim.

S hauled the shoe rack outside and hosed it off.

The stairs and the deck I painted a pretty grey to help hide black hair and muddy feet.

I think it looks lovely even after only 1 coat of each color.

S went into the house at 4:30 and was eating leftovers when I finished painting the stairs and came in before 5:30. I took H for a walk and of course Stella came along too. Back at the garage I clear coated the tiles and chair seat then into do some computer work. Time for a hot tub then into bed to watch Great Canadian Baking show with my late supper a yogurt/fruit bowl. S went out during a hockey intermission for his soak then back to the game in bed. Mom arrived after 8, had leftovers and apple crisp then off to bed.
