The forecast storm rolled in awaking me around 5, S was up to use bathroom and I asked if the cans left laying around the tub might not be blown away, "they will be fine". I got up to use facilities at 7:30 (-3) and looked out to see the hot tub lid blew open and heating the air. Prince went out, closed it and stuck the step on top (He has not affixed the clips as per install guys) then he was back to sleep. I of course was wide awake an playing a few brain games when I heard a crash. Yep the wind caught it again and threw the steps off breaking it to pieces. Back out he went with some of Shaina's weights to set on the top and brought in step to reassemble. Good thing we came home last night, heating AB in a storm not so smart :) He then was fast asleep while I made coffee and gave Dr Ho a try on various parts while working on the blog. I put a bison roast in the slow cooker and watered some plants.
I rousted the sleeping prince from his slumber before 11 with a coffee served in bed. He relaxed enjoying it and checking BP while the storm continued to blow. It hovers around 0 with just a slight accumulation of snow, mostly wind. The sun did pop out off an on after S came to the island for another coffee around 11:30.
I made us a salad for lunch after I made my favorite berry kombucha. Chemicals were added to the spa after a test strips was done then S hooked himself up to Dr Ho in big brown. He of course fell asleep so after I finished my computer work I bundled up and took H for a walk in the crazy blustery winds. I walked back and forth a couple times along the west tree line that was actually very warm with such shelter. I see why the horses stay along there on windy days. I let them out into the hay field which made their day. Back at the house I scooped more poop. S was now up and Britt and Cooper arrived not long after. I had only soaked the food before I set out for my walk so not quite ready so she relaxed on the couch with S in big brown. I proceeded to my workout in the bedroom.
S started cutting the deer bones Darren/Morgan had saved for Harley that we brought back from the Hat in the barn. He moved the saw to the back step to wash it up bringing in the pieces. I was now in the garage tidying and asked if he could try the 2 large chunks of meat. Yep he was able to cut them into big chunks perfect for her meals. We got them bagged, in the freezer and the saw cleaned up. B had caught Roo and lunged her in the round pen before feeding the other 2.
I prepped veggies to go with the roast. B stayed to join us for supper which was delicious of course. She and Coop were then off for home. I scrubbed up the pots and pans then we headed out for a soak in the tub to watch our first sunset. Originally we took water to drink in the tub but when I came in for a pee I made us a rum. We had a 2 hour soak before coming in to shower and relax.
