Day 2

Our room with a view

Day 2 started with beer versus coffee as maid never left coffee nor apple juice lol. Once dressed we headed down for buffet breakfast grabbing a coffee and baileys on our way by premium room. Breakfast was the usual selection for both. The waves were rolling in bigger then usual and crashing so we went to check them out.

Just like home to see horses everyday all day long on our beach as well as the rest of the resorts

Today we chose to sit in the premium level area. It has its own bathrooms which S was wanting as the main ones are a bit of a shit show by mid day with no pun intended. There is a private small pool which he eventually braved then we both headed to the adult infinity pool and I actually got in.

lounger or hammock over sand, hmmm touch choice so lets do both :)

mango daiquiri with hot sauced rim, yum!

S had a vendor empty his whole backpack of carved wooden treasures vying for the whale tail but no deal. Good seeing we don’t need any more knick knacks. I convinced him to join me for lunch which was light with salad and water :)  and very delicious. Back at our loungers S was off for a swim and sun while I enjoyed the shade. I did get us a plate of fries later to enjoy.

We did head up early after 3:00 to change and go for a walk along the streets. The walk was ok, we found a mobile PCR test for $60 USD and a helicopter flight for $1500 USD for 1/2 hour!!! We booked neither lol

This bar is supposedly owned by Gene Simmons but has been closed since covid started.

Back at the hotel for some refreshing cervezas and a margarita before heading to the room to change for supper. Tonight was our first night at Mexican. This is where the HUGE carved horse head is.

The restaurant had lovely ambiance and the first 3 courses; soup salad appetizer were scrumptious however when the main course came the fajitas S ordered and the chocolate chicken I ordered as per the waiters recommend were very disappointing. This was followed up by and even worse disappointing churro dessert that was perhaps frozen and reheated.

As we left the restaurant we saw the elevator up to the sky bar. Last night an American couple told us a long story that it was closed due to covid and that it was privately ran. We thought it odd as the lights were glowing and the tower was right in the middle of the hotel but believed them. Walking by today on our walk I questioned the matching colors to the property so we got on the elevator and took the ride up. Sure enough it was working just fine. We had a drink and checked out the fabulous views.

On our way back to our room we remembered to grab some baileys for coffee. I started a new Netflix show Getting Curious with Johnathon Van Ness while S watched some TV then off to sleep.
