I woke to the sound of rain after 2 am, yeah! As I laid there listening I remembered I left the garage window wide open so went and mopped up the sill and shelf top that was indeed puddled up. I also may have had a girl guide cookie and some almonds :) I continued to listen till it let up before 4 am thanking God for watering all the flowers, trees and grass. Great anniversary present! 31 years. H wanted to head to the garage at her usual 5:15, the horses were grazing happily. Shaina was up early to make a cap for her meeting. The sun was shining when I went to feed H (today she got a pig foot as another first) but the wind was back too and with a vengeance. Good thing though last few windy days, no robins :)
Laundry was started, my caps were made and a few posts done quick before packaging up the tile to head south. I ran to check the gauge; 2/10ths. Today is also TJ's birthday, happy cake day brother bear. Our egg lady arrived with eggs as well as a twin headboard set for yet another cute planned bench. Accounting and such filled the morning then I headed to town before noon.
First stop was to fill Sadie with fuel then return a couple things at Home Hardware. Bank stops next then the dollar store before hitting Walmart. Sad they have self checkouts now and only a couple tellers, jobs are waning. I grabbed my favorite Opa then an iced coffee for my treat out lunch before picking up Cooper. The last stop was to drop off my Etsy parcel at the post office and head to the ranch at 2. The pups were off for a play but H was back to rest in the A/c out of the hurricane and 22 degrees.
I unloaded, quickly ate then moved Pepper and KD back to the diet pen. It is such a warm wind out there but it is drying up any moisture ;( Now to finish the growth ruler; stenciled in white then lightly sanded and voila! Another project checked off the To Do list.
Shaina was finished up by 3 for the day having started early at 6. She had a pork chop dinner while I was watering plants then she scrubbed pots from last night. She was then off to town to the gym before 4:30. Harley's salmon and duck necks arrived before 5. I got all the laundry folded while watching the 5 o'clock news then wrote a Hometalk post for the white dining table set.
I invited B to join us for supper, she arrived after 6. While I started cooking our meal she went and hosed Bird's sore leg and watered the arena. Shaina was back and we all enjoyed supper before heading out to ride. The wind has been a pain all day but having an arena makes riding when windy much better. We then trimmed KD's front feet and I tweaked Switch's backs. All were set free after 9 and B and Coop headed home. I hit the shower then called my better half before he was asleep.
