Projects on the go

Up early and on to a cap while I edited my Instagram post that is part of a furniture tour. Please go like and comment!! It is supposed to drum up interaction and bring new followers so fingers crossed. It does require that I be on top of it to reply and partake commenting and liking others too.

I set up my treasures found yesterday for a quick pic

With my cappuccino I wrote a tutorial for Hometalk for the white desk. Then it was time to get busy in the garage. The oval antique coffee table warped top had me trying even more things. The WD40 worked like a charm on the screw I could not get out. Then the top was slowly rubber hammered off. I planed and sanded and eventually got it almost level, whew.

Then it was time to sand the base of the other coffee table where there was chipping finish then moving on to the dresser. All drawers were removed and the entire piece vacuumed out. The edges were now hand scraped and sanded to remove the old finish.

I took a break after 12 to grab a snack and catch up on replying to folks on my Instagram tour. After my peas and slice of bread.. things are tough here lol I went out to plant the 6 potato pieces. This led to more dandelions being pulled and fed to the horses. then it was back to the garage. There are two drawers that will not close on the large dresser. It seems the fellow painter who sold it to me probably knew this and that the back was missing and many other issues. But seeing they were delivered during the pandemic I did not examine it nor the tall white dresser that had a load of issues. No wonder she offered them to me at a decent price including delivery. I just wish she would have disclosed the issues. I figured it out and moved the two drawer runners successfully.

It is a plus 20 day but around 3 the sun was lost due to clouds with some dark but never doing anything. My GoodFood delivery arrived late in the day. I went out to meet him and keep Lola from moving allot. This led to brushing her, the poor girl is losing even more hair. The open garage door allowed J to go in and when I headed back into work on the dresser I found he had sprayed the coffee table. DAM! So now it was time to scrub it which found cat pee smells on it hence why he sprayed. This piece was donated and delivered yesterday by another fellow painter. It seems I am getting the  pieces they don't want to do but at least this one was free. I scrubbed it well every inch, dried and propped up to continue drying. Shall I mention the hazards of smooth bottom crocs, a wet floor and a heavy large object?

For supper I actually cooked some fish, quinoa and peas. It was cooking when B and C popped out to feed and medicate at 6:30 (today is Bandits last steroid dose) and I was eating it when she left at 7. Back in the garage after getting Lola in around 8:30 I sanded the coffee tables and put the first coat of stain on the rectangular one.

Inside I worked on blogs and tutorials till 11:30 when I headed to bed and just had to finish season 2 of Selling Sunset shutting off my iPad at 1:30, oops. So much for getting 8 hours of sleep tonight LOL.
