Shiplap plan a no go

After our coffee and a bit of marketing and creating a new FB cover,  I set out to get the shiplap wall started.

After bringing one in to test I tried laying them out to get a pattern and plan only to find the edges were not indeed level and with a nickel spacing they may actually touch in some spots and look odd. Now what?? Should we try cutting nailing up and not liking it? That would be a waste so I put on my thinking cap; no point returning them back to the city, I will make rulers for the fall markets.

After sorting, sanding and smoothing 4 boards, I tried one of the new products I got recently; wood aging accelerator. I really liked it! I also painted one blue milk paint.

S worked on installing the new fancy thermostat. It took about 3 hours or more to do so with wires and changes needed in the utility room but by mid afternoon it was complete. His sore back (from extreme tensing while sugaring) slowed him up too.

For the deck pillar top project he got one wrong board and needed to go back to town to exchange it. I went along to town too to check a free piece of furniture which was a no go. I arranged to soak in Paetz's hot tub which seemed to help S's sore back or perhaps it was the blizzard we had before doing so ;)

We stopped at the new discount liquor store and found this fancy rum

B and Cooper were at the ranch when we returned around 6. She was then off to meet Brooke at OJ's for supper leaving S and I to barbeque burgers and more fresh veggies. I got back to my rulers while S got the heat/massager and hit big brown. I was finishing up when B returned just before 9.
