It was a fun afternoon of horse racing. You really get up close and personal with the horses & riders. We both called a few good races and even won on the last race with an actual bet. S paid half of the wins for overpriced BC cherries on the way out though LOL.
first race we caught I called #4, here he is above first lap and below as he came into the finish, we are right on the rail
to pick your winner you can sit right here and watch as they wait for the mount up horn after testing
check out this outrider, her name is Shirley and she is over 80 years old and makes it look easy
check out how tiny those jockeys are
We only had a few sprinkles and wind at the very end but on our drive home we hit rain about 4 miles from our house to 1 mile away ;)
double rainbow caught out my window as we whizzed by neighbors field as it was currently raining
Arriving home at 5:30, B was not long behind us from day 3 of her clinic. We all chatted for a bit then both S and B were sleeping leaving me to update blog posts and making the macaroni salad I started this am.
look at the crazy clouds and sunshine all around us
S started a campfire and cooked himself a few smokies for supper, I opted for salad. I woke B around 7 and she was off to ride. The crazy weather did let out some rain while she rode in the sun creating another double rainbow!! So pretty. She was finishing up when Dave arrived and they joined us at the campfire. We watched fireworks right from home at 11 and wrapped up fire time at 11:30 as the air was pretty brisk after the rain came thru.
another double rainbow
yep it is raining right now
