coffee visit

What a great way to start my day with coffee today, Sharon came to have it with me. She got here at 9:30 and we caught up over many cups of coffee and churro timbits. She was off for home at 12:30 as Marissa our egg lady arrived to drop off . A quick visit with her and it was time to get to work. Today I finished the long MCM dresser with all the cream coats and sanding.

In between I started the chairs however upon further inspection I found much more work then I quote. Her sister had partial painted 3/4 of them black but the finish was cracking off in many places and the pooled paint all over would show thru the new paint. Thank goodness it was PLUS 12 and I could haul one chair out and sand. The customer and I decided I would do one chair and let them decide.

Once all sanded I got the first coat of paint on and let it dry moving on to polish the brass hardware on the dresser ready to put back together.

The chair now got one leg tested with black wax and distressing to be ok'd before going forward and all was a go so onto the 2nd coat.

 

I moved the dresser onto a dolly (no gym needed for me) and put it all together with the drawers waxed. Proud as punch I sent off the picture to customer and was glad it was all done till I looked at the bottom and saw the bottom edge was visible, the drawer fronts do not cover!! dang it! I had now got Lola in for the night and it was 9 so I quickly taped it off and will spray tomorrow so she does not have to breath all night. Time to grab a quick supper snack and catch up on This Is Us 3 PVR episodes.
