Happy Halloween

Sheldon originally took today off and I was to have Archer and Ada in the afternoon but those plans changed. Sheldon was off to work and once up and a coffee chugged, I got back to work. The pink jewel box was painted another coat, distressed and waxed a few times.

The coasters box was glossified and painted another coat, it is done. Now to dry well and stage

I finally got to try my kukui stain, on the raw wood tray I took apart and another raw wood crate.

I put antiquing top coat on the geo table but not liking it ;(

I ran in the house to grab something and looked at the clock, 1:45!! Where has my day gone? I guess you love your job when time flies. I grabbed a quick snack and headed back out to black wax the grey geo table. Whew that was a doozy, waxing takes so much time and all in the details just added to it but by 4 I was done and came in to watch Ellen to see all the costumes. Ellen disappointed me being Sia ;( Horses were by the trailer so I took Switch her 2 pills, the rest were miffed they did not get any ;)

I was working in the garage buffing the stained pieces when Sheldon got home with teas for the chilly day. Happy Halloween everyone, here is the girls costumes from the w/e.

the roll continues

The projects continue to get completed and started this w/e for me, yeah! Sheldon however seems to be under the weather and a bit of a slug. He did spend bouts of the day working on assembling the wee deck gate. It turns out it will take longer then putting up the entire deck rail ;)

now the light was better I snapped these pictures and think they look great so time to post for sale

I added more dark wax detailing to the magazine rack then another dark wax coat and it to was ready to stage up

close up of the aging details

the spice rack was distressed, touched up and a bit of copper wax added to details then staged up too while backdrop still out

gate progress around 2:30.. this is a dry run requiring a few cuts. Britt arrived back home  not long after so off to the shop to put her winter tires on. They were speedy taking only about an hour, good job guys.

I hammered the top back on the cabinet we brought back from Oyen, now to think of colors.. leaning towards greys over the black and keep rustic?

I chose grey for the geo table, I love these tables

pink for he heart jewelry box of course

this awesome wood tray was deconstructed to stain and scrubbed

I LOVE wooden boxes esp carved ones, this one is a keeper, I gave it a drink of hemp oil to freshen up

the sweet coaster box had a change of plans going with cranberry and leaving the original art on top

I whipped up chicken quesadillas for supper so Britt could get on the road by 6 and head back to Olds. Sheldon's sports day continued with more in the TV room while I was back out in the garage to start this project

there is a new product that makes an old world finish so these were scrubbed earlier and now dry ready for a base coat. It is messy painted which is soooo hard for this OCD girl but I like a challenge

Back inside for a shower and jump into bed where the sports fan was now situated flipping between baseball world series game, football and the flames! Our internet was awful all day so no Netflix for me until about 10:30 once Prince was asleep.

projects keep on rolling out

Coffee in bed on a foggy Saturday morning is perfect but soon it was time to get back to my projects.

the cutlery chest was dark waxed and buffed but the hardware was to shiny

my metallic cremes in pewter and old gold helped tone it down, much better

the rack was given a white wax treatment, shown on right

the little cedar box painted last night needed some bling so I chose a stencil in the grey of the stripe

but in typical painting there were issues, the adhesive left marks so sanding and repainting were in order. But it looks cute. Sheldon made his way out and sorted recyclables and swept up D's area then fit in a nap before running them to town at 2. He met a gal at the dump who scored my excess APC paint, thanks. Britt spent the day getting ready for her big Halloween outing in Lethbridge tonight and soon after S was off, Brooke picked her up and they were headed south, have fun girls.
Next in line was this cute vintage spice rack, it too got the azure treatment, such a fun color.

time to stage my finished pieces and get moved to safer ground.. the cutlery chest looks so much better, perfect for cutlery or at the front door for keys, a jewelry box, endless uses for a sweet wood storage chest

last nights azure paint jobs all prettied up

this knob rack will be awesome for jewelry, hats, scarves etc

this pretty little fun quote adds whimsy to the treasure box

and I love the little dived cedar treasure box

as promised yesterday's boxes are all finished with another sweet quote added to the picture opening

and the large divided treasure box, I think great for remotes and such on the coffee table

just a few of the finished pieces

Sheldon arrived back home after 3 with teas ;) thank you his afternoon chore was drain the water tank on trees and relax but he did iron his shirts while watching the hockey game and I created the lazy cabbage rolls for supper. They were so good we ate almost the entire casserole just the two of us.

As it was cooking, I tried to stage the round table that had gotten 2 coats of poly applied today between projects. The light was going fast and being dreary to start made for some sad pictures, that and I don't have the right items to stage.. tomorrow perhaps.

After supper off to the TV room for Prince and I was back to garage to wax the magazine rack a 2nd coat and paint back of spice rack.. so much done so much to do ;)
