Calgary Tournament

Unfortunately the solid 8 hours did not happen. ;( I was up early at 7:30 and got food and beverages packed up and loaded in the truck along with sunscreen, camera, trophies for year end and all other goodies need for a sunny tournament day. I had the dogs fed and hauled the top of the cabinet in from the horse trailer myself but required help for the base. I woke Sheldon and Britt after 8 giving them a chance to catch some extra zzz's then headed out to catch KD and Daisy who will be Shaina's umpire horse.

Back at the house, Sheldon helped unload the base cabinet, Britt had her pillow and Coco and we were off. Slight delay of planned departure and train crossing holdup found us at the field by 9:30 where Shaina was waiting with Tim's, Thanks Shaina!! Group effort to tack up both horses and she was on the field by 10 for the first game. Shaina's team was Shelby and Kiara (who replaced Britt ;( ) and they had a solid win 12-3!! Yeah girls.

Shaina jumped on Daisy and umped the next set of games. Sheldon grabbed subs for a quick break between her playing next. I had KD hosed and tacked back up and off she went again. They were once again victorious in their play capturing the A division hands down. Such great play girls, well done.

Once everyone was again untacked & hosed down it was time to get a cold beverage and wait for the awards while social time happened. Following the awards and visiting we loaded up and Shaina headed home while we zipped back to the ranch. It was a gorgeous day without a cloud in the sky and hit 30 in the city, 28 at the ranch.

Britt and I went out and hosed and treated Bird while Sheldon barbecued some salmon burgers and perogies for supper. He was watching football so we headed down and watched Pitch Perfect 2. I was dozing by the end so headed to bed at 10:30, the rest followed suit, this has been a long week!

update on the gauze/painters tape bandages.. not so good, patient pulled off and removed crusty scabs with it ;(
