Canada Day! ~ another vintage dresser and frames

Monday - Shaina checked we got 2/10ths rain overnight before she headed to her double shift Monday. I got Britt busy cleaning the glass in her frames and we put them together and snapped some pictures before I spent the day hand painting numbers on the dresser, refinishing the wood knobs and buffing it shiny.

and put top coat on the frames to glaze soon

Sheldon plane was delayed today so he got truck parts in Ft Mac, then brought home Chinese food this time on way home from airport for him and I. Slowly the girls trickled home and enjoyed some too. Britt walked the dogs while I painted glaze on the frames and worked on the dresser slide repairs and putting knobs on drawers. Sheldon got busy changing the blocks and u bolts again on the truck. This took a bit longer than he hoped finishing just before midnight.

Tuesday Canada Day!!! A lovely sunny day started with loaded coffee. We all caught a horse, some of us 2 and we headed out on a fantastic trail ride stopping to meet the newest Gosling as we passed thru their yard too.

While Sheldon greased up the swather the girls and I took the dogs to the river for a walk and swim.

Once back home we got ready to head to Paetz's for a barbecue supper. Sheldon cut a few swaths to be sure all running well then we headed in.
Darren Stout joined us for supper. Britt did not have time to get supper poor girl as she had to head to her baseball game in Lyalta. By 9 we were tuckered out so Shaina watched a bit of ball before following us home to bed. Britt and 3 friends went to a Canada day party at a neighbors before coming back here for a sleepover.

Shaina gave the kids a giraffe which is one of the favorite animals currently and Britt gave them a giraffe zoo jug too. Below Asher's cool celebration haircut

Wednesday was hot at 26 but breezy. Sheldon was out cutting the last of the outer round at 8:30 and Britt was ready to jump in my 9. Her sleepover friends headed home around 10. She cut all day only stopping for a couple break downs then had to get ready and swap off with Sheldon to head to the tanning salon for 3 pm.

I worked in the garden watering, replanting seedlings, trimmed lilacs, pulled all dead spireas, planting last 2 geraniums and pulling a ton of weeds before making the first salad from the garden (lettuce only) for lunch.  I also painted chalkboard centers for the 2 frames thru the day. After lunch I trimmed Hawk, treated his scratches and the 2 others, refilled all minerals in pastures before picking poop/rocks in the middle pasture. Both were great jobs to do in the breeze as no mosquitoes! Shaina also helped me carry in dresser to stage and put on auction.

Shaina conditioned KD in the late morning then worked on tidying her personal space before heading out to do some poop picking after 4 in the sun too. Sheldon ran to town and the dump earlier before swapping Britt out. I cooked up a yummy supper, the swather driver came in to eat and then back out to finish while I took Scooter out to condition and practice. Britt was home from work around 9 bringing a sno jo for her and Shaina and nothing for her hard working parents! Once in from cutting the last field (and in a bad mood from many rocks breaking parts) Sheldon, Shaina and I watched a couple episodes of Sons before hitting the sheets after another long day!
