1027 - windy chinook

Day 1027 started another early day but today the wind was howling. It was around zero all day and the wind continued until after supper. Shaina was up earlier than normal heading off to work for 10. Today she is working a double shift, busy girl. Coffee and Olympics were the start, Sheldon continued watching the Cnd hockey game and kindly washed pots and pans and unloaded the dishwasher while doing so. He is really learning to multitask well, right dear?

He is one who has the Olympics on not even watching but scared he might miss something. He did take a break and run to town feigning errands to get more baileys for the coffee but actually came home with a chai tea and dozen roses!! AWWEEE thanks Hun.
Scarily though on his way to town there was a rollover just down the road, the wind caused major icy snow treacherous patches which they must have hit. Ambulance was attending all victims as he past.

I was out in the shop painting chalk boards and putting the crackle glaze on the round accent table. After waiting the hour I applied the top coat of paint and it was a disaster so next step try and wash it all off. This was a task that did not work well as the next application was not sure if it wanted to cover so I distressed it and tried to shabby chic it but again patience got the best of me. Or lack there of when it comes to patience, I always just want to tweak something and it goes bad which it did. By the end of the day I had rubbed and panted and tweaked my limit on this table so left it.

I scrubbed up the end tables I had sanded down, repaired drawer runners, removed hardware, installed runner tacks, stained the top a dark walnut so now ready to paint the bases after applying the top coat over the stain tomorrow.

Sheldon brought me in some more barn board pieces, pushed some snow around especially at the gate where it blew in some today. He  then helped install the hooks on the barn board I had sanded up for the coat rack. While he did this I installed the black boards into the frames. Time for a cold beverage and staging of these finished projects.

Britt got home from the birthday sleepover just after lunch but hit the couch. Must have been a late night heh B? She barely could come up to eat supper after we did.. Sheldon was sleeping by 9 too, maybe it is just the weather. I enjoyed a nice hot shower and relaxed in bed updating the blog on my ipad!
