Winter has made a comeback, blanketing us in snow that continued to fall around the freezing mark. Britt brought Cooper out at 7 am, and he quickly snuggled into bed and fell asleep. Someone had left their hockey gear and a towel on the deck, which was now heavily laden with snow.
Kaylin and Shaina came over before noon for a delightful visit. I prepared some tuna sandwiches, and the girls enjoyed a bowl of roasted vegetable soup. Kaylin, still feeling under the weather, only had the soup. Nathan's surgery has been postponed to next Friday, giving him time to fully recover. They both left around 2 pm, with Shaina driving her Jeep away. By then, the sun had emerged, and the temperature had risen to plus 3 degrees, creating a slushy mess.
S assisted me with bringing in the cabinet pieces. Afterward, I snapped some photos, making the usual paint touch ups needed when shifting to different lighting. S was busy with rodeo-related tasks on his laptop in the big brown chair, and he's now been elected vice president! He ventured off to the chicken coop at 3:30 since there's more work to be done; I had mistakenly thought it was finished. :) Meanwhile, I placed my monthly paint order and completed my Paypal account reconciliation, just as he returned home an hour later.
He didn't actually get much work done at the coop, finding the blustery wind too chilly, but he did take a moment to meet our new neighbor, Phil, who recently purchased the winery. Now, it's time for my Spanish lessons, which I'll enjoy in the golden hour sunshine on the island, while S browses the internet.
Roasted vegetables were served alongside jasmine rice and steamed salmon and cod, enjoyed during the Flames game. After dinner, S retreated to the TV room, while I completed my Spanish lessons and proceeded to create new graphics, which I then pinned to my Pinterest boards and used in tutorials. I finished yesterday's blog and published too.
Britt returned late today, after 8, on the way she noticed an ambulance at the winery; we hope everything is okay with the new neighbors. She ventured out to feed the animals, donning my coveralls and accompanied by her sidekick. They were off in short order, closed the yard gate and opened the gate to the winter pasture, allowing the horses to graze and tidy up the hayfield.
After the Flames overtime win, S went to read in bed. I finished dup my computer tasks, cleaned Harley's hot spot cheek and joined him. We finished a Lincoln Lawyer and he was off to sleep so I continued Live to 100 - secrets of the blue zones - a very helpful ageing resource. Watch for the 100 year old guy in Costa Rica chasing cows daily.
