Grandma Ball would be 100

Today marks what would have been Grandma Ball's 100th birthday. It's astonishing to think. Wishing a blissful centennial in heaven, Grandma! XOXO

I woke up at 7 for no apparent reason as Har spent the night in the garage. S stirred and glanced at his watch, which reminded me of his early hunting plans. We made coffee and savored a cup in bed. S then dressed in his camouflage, gathered his gear, and departed, making a brief return before heading east, all before 8 AM.

Today is Harley's last day of pills, and although I managed to get one into her, it took various bribes to administer the other. Before doing the morning marketing, I lightly sanded the dresser. The tutorial for the custom long dresser was completed, published, shared, and distributed to all the necessary channels. Then, back in the garage, I began painting it a light grey. While talking to Shaina, she received the disheartening news that Nathan's surgery, scheduled for tomorrow, was postponed to next Friday. Dang.

The pedestal of the antique table was sanded, and the holes were re-drilled.

I paused for a break at noon to do some cancer support research. Sheldon returned from his unsuccessful tracking mission, as a black truck had disrupted the morning by scattering the herd. After lunch, we proceeded with our individual computer tasks.

I returned to the shop to work on the projects while S went for a hot tub. The dresser was finish sanded and touched up. S secured the dresser's back as I was reassembling it and attaching the hardware. After that, he camouflaged himself and left again after 2:30.

I worked on tutorials, then loaded Joanne's table and desk parts into the car for delivery to Mom tomorrow who I am meeting in town. The sun made a brief appearance, so I seized the opportunity to do my day 37 Spanish lessons at the island during the fleeting golden hour. The refrigerator was cleaned out before preparing vegetables for dinner.

S returned at 6 from his second round, having spotted more deer but without success in hunting one. While we caught up on the day's events, I prepared an apple crisp to bake after the vegetables were finished. We savored a delicious steak and roasted vegetable dinner. The Brussels sprouts had balsamic vinegar and honey today Afterwards, I resumed my computer work, finally finishing and posting yesterday's blog, then proceeded to work on today's entry. Meanwhile, S watched hockey and researched local names on a land map with a bowl of apple crisp topped with an ice cream sandwich.

bedtime snack ;)

The 4 videos below are from Nov 3/4 that somehow got missed, enjoy!

B was out for her usual feeding routine. She asked me to hold J while she checked him, but she didn't find any visible injuries. It's possible he's just feeling his age, nearing 15. I cleaned and treated Harley's face. B examined him and thought he needed more medication, so I texted the vet who agreed to prescribe more. After that, she and Cooper headed home as the fog rolled in thick, and I returned to my computer work watching Outer Banks on my iPad. We wrapped up the night starting a new series called Cross on Prime.
