My throat is sorer, with crackling ears and a headache today. Poor Renny woke up with a bad cough on top of her other ailments, but we both pressed on with our day. It is -4!! this am. Dave was out before 8 to feed and drop off Cooper. We enjoyed our usual coffee in bed, followed by porridge for S and food for Har, along with some computer time for both of us. Afterwards, I went to the garage to apply a second coat of paint on the dresser, while S vacuumed before heading to town for a rodeo meeting after 11. I sanded and filled the wooden chair with wood filler. After leaving everything to dry, I let the horses out. Roo refused to wear her mask, choosing to stay in the paddock instead.
I took a break for a tuna sandwich, then returned to the dresser. I distressed it with sand and then applied dark wax. The top received another coat of stain; it's now complete except for the stain sealer, which must wait three days. By 2:30, I hurried to get ready for the city. After feeding the dogs and scooping poop from the gravel, I was set to leave. Near the main gate, I realized I'd forgotten my phone and rushed back to get it.
S finished hockey early and parked at A&W, where I met him with hot teas for our drive to the city. We arrived five minutes early to pick up the jumbo work table from a seller. S and he loaded it, with S securing it, while I chatted with the furniture builder. Next, we visited little Miss and her parents for about half an hour. She was eager to show us her painted pumpkin and 'fall in a jar' craft from school.
On the way home, we stopped at a pho place that Paetz recommended. I had the regular braised beef with hand-pulled thin noodles, and S had the same but in a large bowl. He finished his, and I nearly did too, but there were too many noodles in the end. We continued to town, where I retrieved my car and drove home. Britt had arrived and was feeding the horses. S and I unloaded the table, and then I helped her bandage Bas. S loaded his skid steer ready for his big rodeo work bee in the am. It is a cool and blustery evening again.
