More northern lights

Cooper jumped into bed at 7:45 after feeding horses with his dad while I awoke to read. Once S woke up and made coffee, he browsed his phone as I continued reading. Shaina FaceTimed because Lexi was having some issues; she'll update me after the vet visit later today, hopefully, it's just age-related. The day started brisk at 4 degrees but sunny. Once I got moving, I started the laundry, loaded the dishwasher, and utilized the solar energy. After enjoying a large bowl of porridge and some online browsing, S left for work at the chicken palace around 10:30. I released the three horses with my pack of dogs and then harvested carrots, tops included, for the youngsters. Basil, after his leg treatment, is less approachable, but he did concede to try a carrot and liked it once I caught up to him.

I hand-watered the planters and set the soaker hose in the raised garden. S returned at 11:30 to pick up tools and drop off mail, assisting with a leaky fitting I couldn't completely close. Then, he headed back to the chicken hut.

Poor Kaylin is struggling with the CRA - the COVID payments from years ago have been revoked, and she's required to repay them! It's incredibly frustrating for a young woman who was just trying to survive during that chaos, and now, years later, they're demanding repayment. It seems their hunt for program abusers is punishing those who genuinely needed help during those tough times. Politicians... GRRR.

I succeeded in working on the blogs while also doing laundry and organizing photos. S came back for lunch, prepared his hockey equipment, and departed for town after 1 PM. The temperature peaked at 13 degrees today, yet it remained sunny and clear. Shaina shared the veterinary appointment information, intending to observe her and record any alterations. The vet also proposed the removal of her other eye, ;(

Post-lunch, I completed my bold floral table tutorial and shared it across all necessary pages and platforms. In the process of writing this tutorial, I realized I had omitted videos for the white magazine rack. These needed to be compressed and uploaded. My afternoon continued with tutorial and blog work until I encountered the Microsoft read-only issue once more. This led to an extended phone troubleshooting session, which ended with the representative saying she would call back tomorrow—quite surprising. Subsequently, while ordering an online gift card, I ran into issues with Apple Pay. Another troubleshooting call, this time with Apple, resulted in multiple holds and speaking with someone who couldn't resolve the Apple Pay problem but did shed light on the Microsoft issue—it's an OS update glitch requiring an urgent patch. The technical difficulties with these online applications, computers, and programs are truly exasperating.

Earlier, S had collected the mail—we usually do this biweekly—so I also squeezed in some accounting. I was on Tim's website when S got back from hockey just before 4:30 PM. We had happy hour as we folded laundry. Dinner prep involved putting rib bones and fresh potatoes in the instant pot. I filled the horses minerals up when I brought the 3 back into the paddocks. Meanwhile, I practiced Spanish lessons while S searched YouTube for cement drilling videos. We had a salad with our meal before S left at 7:30 PM to discuss project delays with Matt (the wire is still not in), and I settled down to work on today's blog post.

B and D ventured out to feed in the pitch darkness before 8 PM. S came back at 8 to catch his sports. Tonight's northern lights display wasn't as vivid as Monday's, but it was still spectacular. I caught a few more episodes of The Cowboy Way, and then S and I began watching The Hunters. However, he fell asleep quickly. I continued watching for a bit longer before turning off the lights, calling it an early night just after 10.
